"We expect that the recession will even give growth an additional boost," Gameforge CEO Klaas Kersting explains. "Our business model works to our advantage here. Classical game developers depend on the willingness of their customers to spend money on a game without knowing whether they will really enjoy it. This willingness should drop significantly in the future." Gameforge games only require a one-time registration with user name, password and valid e-mail address. Registered users can play each of the more than 12 games for free and without limit. Those still willing to spend money can do so by purchasing add-ons and premium game features and thus personalize their game figures, for instance, or gain small time advantages for the game.
In order to be able to guarantee the development of new games and the expansion of existing ones with the familiar quality in the future, the company is constantly on the lookout for technically highly qualified staff. "There are many exiting projects ahead of us," according to Kersting. "In 2008 we already have nearly tripled the number of our employees. But we are still looking for any number of creative minds that enjoy promoting Gameforge with us both nationally and internationally."
