For the first time ever exclusive add-ons to the popular browser games Seafight and DarkOrbit have been sold on the German Amazon. Seafight is the most popular game by Bigpoint with more than 1m registered players all over the world.

Bigpoint Seafight PC-CDThe fully packed special edition CDs can be bought for 9.99 € in electronic stores and supermarkets including Saturn, MediaMarkt, Real and WalMart all over Germany.

Heiko Hubertz, CEO of Bigpoint comments: “The add-ons include special features for our browser based games and are soled in close collaboration with the INTENIUM GmbH, who is organizing the professional distribution. It was a new test with a positive outcome.”

But how do browser games and CDs match? Aren’t browser based games popular for no special requirements eg. having to use a CD? Hubertz explained us about how this special CD works: “Needless to say that the actual game is still being played within the web browser. But the CD offers exclusive expansions and features to add to the game. The distribution within supermarkets, stores and online retailers helps us to develop a much bigger target group. The feedback we get shows us that we are able to provide attractive and exciting entertainment to a wider public than ever.”

An international version is not planned based on our information.
